Welcome to The Immigration Law Offices of Cynthia R. Exner, LLC. Attorney Cynthia R. Exner obtained her Bachelor Degree in 3 years, instead of 4 years and obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree in 2 ½ years instead of 3 years. During law school, she also worked as a Family Court Clerk at the Superior Court in Bridgeport, CT handling family matters such as divorces. While working as an Associate Attorney for Tirola, Herring, Pober and Lazo in Westport, CT she handled hundreds of real estate closings representing both individuals and lending institutions, as well as juvenile and criminal cases in Bridgeport, Norwalk, Stamford and Danbury. When the renowned Immigration Attorney Joel Stewart moved his Immigration practice to the State of Florida, Attorney Exner assumed the handling of many of his Connecticut –based immigration cases.

As an Associate Attorney for Cramer & Anderson, in New Milford, CT she continued practicing real estate and immigration law, until eventually opening her own immigration practice in New Milford, CT. Original clientele consisted of family-based immigration involving marriage to a US citizen, and employer-sponsor cases in which employers sponsored their employees for permanent residence. The practice expanded rapidly as Attorney Exner was elected to the position of Connecticut State Chapter Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and to the Board of Governors of AILA, and received the prestigious Pro Bono Award from AILA. She achieved success on behalf of a large number of clients from a broad range of nations.

Attorney Exner participated in efforts to expand our immigration laws, to better assist our US businesses in attracting the best and brightest workforces and pursued a strong passion to broaden our immigration laws to include our LGBT community.

Today, the firm consists of 4 attorneys, all concentrating in the field of immigration and nationality law, and has a distinguished list of clientele from many nations. The law firm continues to be a family business. Daughter Kristan Exner works at the firm. Son, John E. Exner, IV is an immigration attorney in Los Angeles, with the firm of Mitchell Silverberg & Knupp, LLP. Attorney Exner also has a son who is an officer in the US Marine Corps.
